Fusion of Art and Engineering

Campers will explore the engineering principles behind ancient Chinese architecture guided by Chinese outdoor masters and learn to design and build together applying the wisdom they have acquired from Ancient Chinese history.

Deep Immersion in the Beauty of China

Children, students and adults are all welcome. There will be separate, age-appropriate, fun activities (Chinese lessons, sightseeing, local experiences, etc.) for different age groups during the day. Look out for the itinerary soon!

Traditional Chinese Medicine

Our campers will be guided by experienced Chinese herbalists to observe, identify, touch, smell and even taste some common, safe herbs & tea leafs and learn about their functions and health benefits.

Ancient Chinese architecture is featured by walled compounds, raised pavilions, wooden columns and panelling, yellow glazed roof tiles, landscaped gardens, and a careful application of town planning and use of space. many of them still playing an important part in modern architecture across East Asia.

Ancient Chinese buildings usually used bright colors, vermilion for pillars, yellow for glazed roof tiles and green for decorative parts such as the brackets under the eaves. Some outstanding architect examples in China are:

  • The Great Wall

  • Cave Architecture

  • Private houses with shared courtyard

  • Royal palaces

  • Buddhist temples and pagodas

The most common building type had regularly spaced timber posts which were strengthened by horizontal cross-beams. In order to better protect the building from earthquake damage, very few nails were used, and joins between wooden parts were made to interlock using mortises and tenons which gave a greater flexibility.

Shanghai Biggest city and financial center of China with a blended culture of the East and the West. We will not only show you the stunning skyline of skyscrapers by the bank of Huangpu River but also take you to the tranquil water town in suburban Shanghai for tea and local opera.

Xi’an Former capital of 13 dynasties, the starting city of the Silk Road and home of the Terracotta Warriors! It has the most history and art to offer in China, and it is the center of Chinese Muslims. You will see a mix of traditional Chinese heritage, modern city view and a glimpse of unique West Asian flavors and colors that you will not find anywhere else in China.

Traditional Chinese medicine is system of medicine at least 23 centuries old that aims to prevent or heal disease by maintaining or restoring Yin-Yang balance. China has one of the world’s oldest medical systems.

Acupuncture and Chinese herbal remedies date back at least 2,200 years, although the earliest known written record of Chinese medicine is the Huangdi neijing (The Yellow Emperor’s Inner Classic) from the 3rd century BCE. That opus provided the theoretical concepts for TCM that remain the basis of its practice today.

In essence, traditional Chinese healers seek to restore a dynamic balance between two complementary forces, yin (passive) and yang (active), which pervade the human body as they do the universe as a whole.

Herbs, with each of their own properties like cold, heat, mild, sour, salty, or acrid, can help correct the yin and yang of human body when it is unbalanced and sick, so a person can regain balanced health conditions.
